After a five-year hiatus, or rather, a five-year period of rediscovery and shifting of attention, ARNODEFRANCE has returned to the Parisian fashion scene with its 2021 “The Pine on The Rock” collection lookbook.

Stradling casual wear and contemporary, with motifs inspired by traditional clothing from both Europe and Asia, this collection sees tailored offerings from dropped-shoulder oversize coats (kimono-seamed), minimalist double-breasted blazers, and inside-out pocketed shorts. The earthy color palette of gray, brown, orange, and beige is founder Arno’s representation of the landscape of Massif de l’Esterel. A playful component to this collection is the reimaged Beavis and Butthead characters as “Billy and Baku.” These fictional characters can be seen on graphic tees and represent the rebellious and confident self-concept that has emerged from this evolutionary collection.

“It all started very organically, even without any intention of knowing that I’d be able to partake in the fashion world as I dwelled into the world of sketching and graphic designing in my off-hours as a pastry chef,” shared Arno. “Sketching drafts for culinary presentations, mainly for dessert, reminds me of the time when creating menus for the coming season was so pleasing – to draw, cultivate ingredients of the season, experiment different tastes, texture, acidity… Just the same for fashion creation where you source the ideal fabrics, discover new cut techniques, experiment on silhouettes to find ones that eventually define you, your style.”

Operating seasonless, with only one collection per calendar year, the 2021 “The Pine On the Rock” collection is available now over at ARNODEFRANCE.
