In true Rei Kawakubo form, the sneaker is served in black with white details and is the epitome of minimalism. The shoe is almost free of branding, bar the tongue tab that reads off both of the collaborators’ names in block black typography.
The Tempo has a retro runner aesthetic as it’s shaped like a wedge, which is further accentuated by the nature of its waffle-esque outsole that comes to an end at the high-positioned toe.
Black leather has been added on the bottom section of the mid-panel, wrapping around to the toe box as it decreases in width before joining back around to the medial side. The same premium and supple leather finds itself decorating the heel tab, heel cut-out, and it has also been used to line the interior and tongue.
