Travis Scott has a wide swath of collaborative footwear projects with both Jordan Brand and Nike under his belt, but one of the most popular has consistently been his run of Air Jordan 4s. After a Houston Oilers-inspired a retail release pair blew off shelves in 2018, we were also treated to looks at a friends and family makeup of the retail version, plus two other PE-style iterations: one known as “Olive” and a rich purple. Now, a sample pair of the “Olive” has surfaced with one major difference from the version that was put into production: there’s no tortoiseshell detailing on the top or bottom eyestays.
Apart from this simplified piece of detailing, the rest of the shoe’s build is surely familiar to any of the Cactus Jack general’s legions of ardent fans. Uppers are made from a flat olive nubuck material, accented with hits of rich black on the throat and quarter panels’ netted overlays. Midsoles add black detailing as well, and the tongue badge is done up in premium suede with an embroidered silver Jumpman graphic. Heels add a Cactus Jack hit on the right foot, collar and tongue linings are done up in black leather for a premium fit and a thick co-branded suede hangtag rounds off the look.
As this pair is a promo sample, it will never see a retail release. If you’re looking for news on footwear that you will be able to purchase, be sure to check out the latest installment of HYPEBEAST’s weekly Best Footwear Drops series.
