Dover Street Market has called upon its community of artists and brands to create a collection in association with When We All Vote (WWAV). Enlisting 25 names that frequently work with Dover Street Market, the collaboration — which is titled “We Can Change the World Together, When We All Vote with DSM New York and Los Angeles” — aims to further raise awareness and participation in elections while closing the race and age voting gap by changing the culture around voting.
WWAV (which was launched in 2018 by co-chair Michelle Obama) and DSM tasked the 25 participants with creating something that featured a voting thematic of their choice. Combined, the works reflect on DSM’s “Beautiful Chaos” thematic it applies to its retail experience, but this idea has never felt so apt in a world of vocal diversity. As a result, it’s hoped that the collaboration will further spread WWAV’s message to all of those who can, and should, vote.

In 2016, the election was effectively decided by fewer than 80,000 people in three states. During the mid-term elections in 2018, even with the largest youth turnout for a midterm election in decades, two-thirds of young people still did not vote.⠀ ⠀ Ahead of this election, @doverstreetmarketnewyork has asked its community in the USA to join us in educating, raising awareness and creating a call to action around registering and making a plan to vote by designing a single item that reflects a voting message of their choosing.⠀ ⠀ DSM has realized this project in partnership with @whenweallvote – a non-profit, nonpartisan organization on a mission to increase participation in every election – and @goodservice.nyc. ⠀ ⠀ 100% of profits will be donated back to When We All Vote for their work in this and forthcoming elections.⠀ ⠀ Launching Saturday, September 26th in-store and online. ⠀ ⠀ Link in bio for more information.
The artists and brands involved are: Alastair McKimm, Alex Israel, Ari Marcopoulos, Bravado (working alongside Beastie Boys, Guns N’ Roses, and Selena Gomez), Cactus Plant Flea Market, Cam Hicks, Dan Colen — Sky High Farm, Denim Tears, Exchange Program, Goodfight, Honey Dijon, Hood By Air, Ignored Prayers, Infinite Archives, IRAK, Marc Jacobs, Maroon World, Matt McCormick, Midland Agency, Off-White™, Sci-Fi Fantasy, Stüssy, and Vaquera.
All of the designs will be celebrated in a photo campaign shot by and featuring the participants themselves, with art direction conducted by Ronnie Cooke Newhouse.
Launching on September 26 at Dover Street Market’s LA and NY stores, as well as on their respective E-Shops, 100-percent of the collection’s profits will be donated to WWAV for its work on this, and forthcoming, elections.
