fragment design‘s constant stream of partnerships often draw from scholarly influences, ranging from Hiroshi Fujiwara‘s Moncler Genius efforts to the actual school uniforms co-masterminded by fragment. As part of WHIZLIMITED‘s 20th anniversary, fragment and craft-centric company M&M Custom Performance have dreamed up another set of collegiate-inspired wearables in homage to Harajuku’s streetwear origins.

The concise collaboration encompasses outerwear, scarves and a White Sox-logo’ed New Era cap, to drive home that uniquely Japanese reclamation of American style. Key to this collection is a hooded wool toggle coat realized in warm grey or navy wool and finished with tonal logos at the front and co-branding on the rear of the sleeve and above the left cuff.

Appropriately, the outerwear is accompanied by similarly-toned scarves, drawing from the sporty stripes of schools’ sports teams. Therein, the subtle flair of fragment’s design ethos meets the youthful flair of WHIZLIMITED, elevated by the quality hardware provided by M&M.

WHIZLIMITED’s flagships in Kyoto, Fukui and Sendai are the exclusive outlets of the new capsule.

Most recently, fragment design was part of a crush of collaborators enlisted for Medicom Toy‘s latest far-reaching BE@RTEE collaboration.
