Indeed, the label that started to rise as of late 2019 and has since had collaborations with the likes of Chinatown Market is now working with the iconic Playboy brand. Speaking on the collaboration, Hatton Labs’ co-founder Joe Gelb said, “Playboy is possibly the best brand of the twentieth century, collaborating with them is a huge dream… At the very beginning, we definitely had this ‘kid in a candy store’ moment coming up with a million different product ideas. Ultimately, we could only justify moving forward if we could develop something quite special.”
In usual Hatton Labs form, it really did “develop something quite special.” The twenty-eight-piece, gender-free range comprising rings, earrings, chains, and pendants made of sterling silver, 14k and 18k gold, is a stunning array that’s offset with rare gems and materials such as diamonds, emeralds, rubies, sapphires, onyx, pink mother of pearl, and more.
The result is something straight out of the Playboy Mansion and Playboy Clubs in the 1960s. One standout includes the “Membership Ring,” a piece quite literally modeled on a vintage 9k gold Playboy Club members ring from the ’60s, rendered in 20 different finishes and mixing different metals and stones.
Each of the 20 ring designs is limited to different production runs — some rings may only be made in a run of two, others up to a maximum of 44. No matter the ring’s scarcity, it will come with a hand-numbered card stating its number within production, so you’ll know where you rank in the exclusive “Membership Ring” club.
