The Super Bowl has seen a range of artistic collaborations take place as the 54th championship game prepares to kick off this weekend in Miami. Designer retailer UNKNWN is now linking up with Nike for a female-led experience at their recently-opened flagship store in Wynwood. The multi-sensory experience, “created by women for everyone,” will transform UNKNWN’s boutique into Nike’s “The Future is in the Air.” Launching this event is Miami-born contemporary artist Jessy Nite‘s latest football-inspired mural.

Known for her outdoor text installations that interact with the environment, Nite transforms UNKNWN Wynwood’s main courtyard into a brightly colored football field. The 6,000 square foot courtyard — which was once a basketball court — becomes a “court of field goals” imbued with the artist’s own narrative. “I wanted this special piece for UNKNWN and Nike to reflect Miami from my point of view as a local. There is a tropical burn-out vibe with gradient colors throughout, even on the goalposts. I’m well known for geometric patterns in my art and it was fun to interpret my style as a football field,” Nite says.

Nite’s piece, which was unveiled to the public today, will launch Nike’s Air Max Verona and mark the beginning of UNKNKWN’s Super Bowl weekend. Check out more “Future is in the Air” events on UNKNWN’s website.
