Hockey plays an important part in Finnish life, with over 300 rinks and thousands of frozen ponds found across Finland. The sport has also formed an essential part of Karhu’s history, with the brand producing equipment and sticks, before turning its hand to sneakers.
The heyday of Karhu’s hockey division came when Antti-Jussi Tiitola — creator of the world’s first fibreglass hockey stick — joined forces with the brand. The combination proved to be the golden duo and the hockey category became extremely successful.
In celebration of this period, Karhu has readied its latest “Hockey” pack for Fall/Winter 2020 by unveiling five reworked silhouettes from the brand’s archive. Comprising two Aria 95s, Fusion 2.0, Legacy 96 and Synchron Classic, each sneaker arrives in a mix of dark and active colors, all accompanied by a special footbed featuring the Karhu “Hockey Bear” logo.
The FW20 “Hockey” pack will be released globally on October 2 on the Karhu webstore.
In other footwear news, HANON and Pantofola d’Oro have celebrated football legacy with its latest limited-edition release.
