While the “Chicken War” is in full (s)wing, fast-food giant KFC has decided to take a step back from serving its hot and crispy food to launch a special pair of slippers inspired by basketball sneakers.
The launch coincides with the ongoing basketball games being played in the United States right now, and act as the perfect pair of slippers to lounge around the home in or, as KFC Canada puts it, for “kickin’ back and diggin’ into a bucket, couchside — all while watching your team get buckets, courtside.”
KFC Canada’s slippers are modeled on the archetype basketball sneaker aesthetic (although there are clear nods to the Air Jordan 4 “Fire Red,”) sporting a colorway of white, red, and black that also references the brand’s logo. Elsewhere, we find a Colonel Sanders face patch placed on the tongue area of the slippers, as well as the late founder’s full signature embroidered into the plush pair’s sidewall.
Rounding out the pair is a set of functional laces and KFC’s logo on the lateral rear-quarter, as well as a grippy padded outsole. KFC Canada is dropping the slippers in its “BUCKETDROP” which consists of a raffle commencing March 11 and ending on March 14. Those interested can enter the raffle on the dedicated website.
