Virgil Abloh has brought the first men’s Spring/Summer capsule collection to the house of Louis Vuitton. This Spring/Summer 2021, Louis Vuitton’s vibrant collection comes in three-folds, reflecting three different time periods from dawn to dusk.

At sunrise, pastel-colored suits, Hawaiian shorts and shirts, Japanese denim, and monogrammed cotton with a pop of watercolor hues are unveiled in the Venice Beach area. Matching the cool twilight tint, a navy color scheme emerges, featuring indigo pajamas and saxe-blue short suits.

The wardrobe is highlighted and embodied by American rapper 21 Savage‘s cool energy. Abloh references West Coast artists and skaters with jacquard blazers and multi-colored windbreakers, as well as light denim plastrons, embroidered shirts and lightweight leather blousons. All the pieces are diffused with a sense of joyful nostalgia sparking the conversation of endless possibilities.

The collection maintains some of Louis Vuitton’s most classic accessories including the backpacks such as Keepalls and tote bags. The bags all feature the same watercolor Monogram design that is also seen on matching cotton and silk bandanas and masks. The collection brings back the multicolored link bracelets, enameled rings and lucky charms to be worn around the neck. A selection of Monogrammed scarves, leather sneakers and boat shoes give the finishing touch to Louis Vuitton’s spring/summer silhouette.

Many pieces in the collection were specifically designed with the environment’s best interest in mind. On a global scale, the brand has committed 100 percent of its products to an eco-design strategy by 2025. Colors were derived without the use of metals and chlorine and the cotton used was certified by the Better Cotton Initiative or the Global Organic Textile Standard. Other fabrics, including the nylon windbreakers all utilized recycled materials.
