The collaboration arrives in time with golf’s biggest tournament and aims to introduce the new generation to one of the world’s oldest sports. Fronting the partnership is the portable, wireless Bluetooth speaker Beats Pill+, which is offered in an immaculate white colorway and features Malbon’s mascot Buckets painted in black across the grill. The piece comes with a matching sleeve and includes a Lightning cable for charging, speakerphone and the capability to answer calls straight from the speaker, making it the ideal tech item to place in your golf cart.
Meanwhile, the co-branded capsule collection consists of minimalist apparel like a black crewneck sweater and a white T-shirt. Matching accessories arrive in the form of a branded rope hat, bucket hat, a pair of visors and a golf towel.
Beats also teamed up with pro-golfer Cameron Champ, Sir Nick Faldo, Stephen and Erica Malbon and rapper/golf enthusiast ScHoolboy Q to showcase some of golf’s most outdated rules, which includes the conservative dress code, etiquette, women’s rules and the music and sounds.
“While golf has historically been associated with exclusivity, the game is and can be so much more than that,” said Stephen Malbon, CCO of Malbon Golf. “We partnered closely with Beats to create a message around our collection that showcases the fun-loving and subversive side of golf, while also acknowledging that golf culture still has a ways to go. Ultimately, so many of us who love the sport also want the next generation to love it as much as we do.”
