Air Max 1 buffs have had an eventful last few weeks, as the seminal Nike silhouette has appeared in everything from revived “Powerwall,” “Hunter Green” and “Anniversary Orange” colorways to wild new styles like the “Hyper Pink.” Now, the Tinker Hatfield-designed classic is back in two ultra-premium makeups: the crisp “Spiral Sage” and the humoriously-monikered “Mystic Dates.”
Setting themselves apart from standard releases in both construction and embellishment, both of these Air Max 1s feature Nike Sportswear‘s popular mini Swoosh detail on the lateral mudguard and a full leather upper, save for the mesh tongue. Although the “Spiral Sage” uses a Patta Air Max 1 “5th Anniversary”-esque green tone and the “Mystic Dates” an autumnal brown hue, each follows an identical colorblocking scheme — signature color on mudguard, midfoot Swoosh, collar trim, top eyestays and tongue/heel branding, white on toebox, throat and collar and gray on quarters and rear overlays. Both are finalized by white midsoles, multicolor outsoles and cushioning units that correspond with the primary accent color.
The Nike Air Max 1 “Spiral Sage” and “Mystic Dates” have both seen sporadic regional releases at select stockists, but will make official debuts via Nike SNKRS Korea on September 30. The MSRP for each is set at ₩179,000 KRW (approximately $153 USD).
