Back in February 2020, Nike teamed up with COMME des GARÇONS HOMME PLUS for a triple whammy of Air Max 95 colorways, one of which was incredibly popular. Now, the Swoosh brand has captured the collaborative pairs’ spirit with a new “Champagne” colorway.
At first glance, “Champagne” is not the core color you see. In fact, the upper sports a construction of black ripstop nylon on the tongue and very top mid-panel section, while black leather has been used on the toe box, heel, and the last two mid-panel stripes. Sandwiched inbetween the middle’s use of ripstop and leather is a wave of light gray suede sporting the signature mini Swoosh in black embroidery, as well as a final wavy stripe in smooth “Champagne” suede.
The core color is complemented by the webbing eyelets that line the tongue and the matching Air Max logo that’s found on the tongue. White branding appears on the rear, which relates more closely to the imposing white midsole that’s finished with clear Air unit bubbles on the forefoot and a black-tinted one at the heel.
Nike’s Air Max 95 “Champagne” is currently available on a selection of its region-specific websites in Asia, while a North American and European release is still yet to come. The pair has also dropped on 43einhalb in women’s sizes, and the shoe is expected to cost around $170 USD in its respective markets.
