Nike has paid homage to Penny Hardaway, the 1996 NBA All-Star Game, and even mother nature with its latest Air Foamposite One.

Appearing in a colorway consisting of black, white, and “Game Sapphire Blue,” the pair offers everything from a fading color scheme that references Hardaway’s home team to lightning strikes running down the mid panels. On the heel and sole, Nike has added Hardaway’s signature “1CENT” logo complete with herringbone shading, highlighting the OG basketball style of the ’90s.

The lightning strike is said to reference Hardaway’s white warm-up pants that he wore during the 1996 All-Star Game — the same pair that Michael Jordan famously pulled off of him. Nike adds pinstripe detailing to the inner bootie to reference the now-exposed warm-up pants, while the colored insoles represent the team uniform worn underneath.

Further nods to the game come in the form of “1996” stamps and star branding on the insoles. Stars have been embroidered into the tongue tabs, while another “1CENT” logo appears on the tongue underneath the lacing system.

The Nike Air Foamposite One in “Black/White/Game Sapphire Blue” retails for approximately $255 USD. Take a closer look at the pair above, and pick them up from Nike’s website while stocks last.
