Nike is home to some of the most technologically advanced footwear silhouettes known to mankind, one being the Adapt Auto Max which is set to cap off 2020 with a brand new “Jetstream” colorway. The nature of its two-toned palette certainly elicits memories of the Swoosh’s iconic Nike Air MAG — the Tinker Hatfield-designed light-up sneakers that actor Michael J. Fox introduced in the 1989 motion picture Back to the Future Part II.
Last seen hitting the market towards the end of November dressed up with the classical black-on-black motif, the silhouette is taking a clear departure from any utilization of darker tones here. Save for the vibrant hits that outline the tongue branding as well as the silver stripe down the heel tab, the upstairs portion of these self-lacing kicks are doused in a lighter grey. Underneath, a bright teal hue paints across the tooling where both the button fixtures and Air unit are located, as well as on the protruding heel piece whose embedded Swoosh insignia offsets with a volt hit. Midsole underlays are backdropped in a slightly darker grey shade, but ornamented with that of static-like doodles dialed to a matching teal much like the Nike Adapt BB 2.0 “MAG” that initially dropped back in August.
These are scheduled to release via Nike SNKRS and select retailers come December 26 for the usual MSRP of $400 USD.
