In a consumer world where sustainability is being accentuated more than ever, Nike has made valiant efforts to play its part by manufacturing eco-friendly sneakers such as the Space Hippie 04. The low-top silhouette has impressed many a sneaker connoisseur across the globe with its lifestyle look and cushy ride, and now it has returned in a brand new “Smoke Grey/Black/Pink Blast” colorway.
The trash-to-treasure kicks possess a recycled upper that is backdropped in “Smoke Grey” across the lateral panels as well as the back end of the medial wall. From there, it’s the brighter South Beach-accents that take front and center stage. Teal tints the forefoot region of the medial as well as sprinkles to the tongue’s “04” branding and the heel’s “Nike” lettering, while “Pink Blast” smears the upper’s exposed embroidery and intertwining cables. Additionally, pitch black accents accompany via the laces, woven-in Swooshes, and the heel tabs that extend down onto the mid-foot.
Semi-chunky midsoles sport the multi-colored, scrap-infused aesthetic and materials that are signature to the model, and sit adjacent to charcoal molds attached to the toe tips and heels.
Nike has yet to confirm a stateside release date for these, but note that they are available via select retailers in Europe right now.
