Every year, it’s expected that Nike executes some form of vault digging to bring back archival footwear pieces. In 2021, one of the silhouettes that is being recalled back to the frontlines is the Nike Waffle Trainer 2, and it has just surfaced in “Fireberry/Electro Orange” and “Velvet Brown/Dark Sulfur” color stories.
Diving first into the brighter variation, the “Fireberry/Electro Orange” is rife with Spring-appropriate hues. An extremely loud pink hue is pronounced over the nylon side walls and accompanying suede overlays, the former being dialed to a slightly darker shading. “Electro Orange” hits are second in line in terms of making a big statement as they sprinkle to the Swooshes and leather heel overlays where the Nike branding is spelled out.
Moving over to its release partner, the “Velvet Brown/Dark Sulfur” is more so reliant earthy colors for styling. Its primary nominal tone spills over most of the base layer’s real estate, and appears with a shaggy, almost worn-in look along the suede overlays. Alongside this comes “Dark Sulfur” accents that fill in leather heel overlays and the Swooshes.
