Hot of the heels of its WORK SHOP x Denim Tears collaboration, Our Legacy has unveiled that its next capsule collection sees it team up with Eva Jangen of 118 Second Läder to rework a host of vintage Swedish biker jackets.
The limited-edition collection is comprised of vintage biker jackets — of which the majority are ’50s and ’60s Swedish tourist trophy jackets from Malung made from Swedish goat leather — that have all been given a once-over by Our Legacy.
Speaking on the collaboration, Cristopher Nying, Creative Director of Our Legacy said, “To me, 118 Second Läder has always been an institution of vintage leather garments. Eva herself has one of the most impressive vintage leather collections in the world,
more specifically, she owns the most extensive collection of Swedish leather jackets originating from the ’20s to the ’70s. After Eva collaborated with us on creating a pair of deconstructed leather pieces for a previous season, we decided that we should bring some of her world into a new light. Both me and Eva suggested styles and designs for the project, which were then taken apart at the Our Legacy office to later be rebuilt, back at 118 Second Läder.”
With this in mind, you’ll find one-of-a-kind leather garments and accessories that draw exclusively from Swedish vintage biker attire, working alongside their newfound stylistic approach in an old-meets-new harmony. For example, some pieces may present themselves as the union of two or three different pieces in one, while others are repainted and work alongside the goat leather to reveal an interesting and unique brown-toned patina, showing its age through the cracks and wear.
What’s most beautiful about the entire collaboration is how branding has been kept to a bare minimum — on one jacket the outline of Our Legacy’s circular logo can be seen, but throughout the range that’s almost it for branded appearances. Take a look at the collection above, and shop the entire Our Legacy x 118 Second Läder range on Our Legacy’s website or in-store from later on today.
