Japan-based PORTER is celebrating its 85th year with a special bag collaboration project with Amsterdam-based textile studio, BYBORRE.

Known for its highly-innovative textile aesthetics and functional capabilities, BYBORRE is at the forefront of material development. This collaboration utilizes BYBORRE’s engineering and PORTER’s original nylon bonding fabric to create a sustainably knitted bag. The bag will be mainly constructed out of BYBORRE’s acclaimed textile fabric, made of 100% recycled polyester yarn called AO3, Attachment Only 3 Layer.

The AO3 provides a fully compact front and back layer, offering a surprisingly dense knit draping over the silhouette of the bag. The material is extremely versatile and can be easily configurable with any color, graphic, or yarn material. Bags with a shoulder strap will also feature the AO3 on the shoulder pads to ensure comfortability for the wearer.

This collaboration collection offers six different styles of bags, including the Backpack, 2Way Helmet Bag, 2Way Shoulder Bag, Waist Bag, Vertical Shoulder Bag, and Effects Bag. PORTER has commemorated its 85th anniversary with a special dark navy and deep neon orange colorway, along with the PORTER branding visibly emphasized in bold, large letters on the front. Each bag features the signature PORTER tag on the navy silhouette, as well as both brands’ names stitched in orange, further paying homage to the partnership. The Porter tags and bag interiors are also all exclusively designed with original BYBORRE material.

Product prices range from $98 to $385 USD and will be available on PORTER starting January 15, 2021.

In case you missed it, Vetements is joining the official Paris Fashion Week schedule.
