Japan’s FACETASM continues making moves, linking up with the world’s premier source of merino wool, The Woolmark Company for two seasons of collaborations.

FACETASM designer Hiromichi Ochiai visited The Woolmark Company’s Australian farm for a first-hand look at the sheep that produce the brand’s iconic textile. Ochiai expresses surprise at the expanse of land and describes how it inspires him to get to work on the forthcoming collaborative clothing. “Although so far I had seen Merino wool only at the fabric stage, through this visit I learnt it is actually based on so much love and history,” Ochiai stated. “I would like to deliver the story behind Merino wool and incorporate this invaluable experience in my creations.” No concrete details were given as to the design or styles of clothing that Ochiai will imbue with wool, and the brand’s adventurous designs are anything but predictable.

The collaboration will surface for the Fall/Winter 2018 and Spring/Summer 2019 FACETASM collections, with wool gear designed for both men and women. Take a look at candid photos of Ochiai on the farm above and check out the teaser below.
