Unveiled back in January, Takashi Murakami‘s custom-designed suite in Roppongi Hills’ luxurious Grand Hyatt Tokyo Hotel is set to be commemorated with a special capsule of covetable apparel. Ranging from loungewear to accessories, the exclusive items are par for the course at the high-end Roppongi Hills development.
Offered in extremely limited quantities, the goods range from collaborative T-shirts and swim trunks crafted by Hawaiian label T&C Surf to militaristic parkas emblazoned with a standing flower figure representative of the suite’s Flower Parent & Child sculpture. The imagery is also realized leather iPhone cases, monochrome tote bags, socks, handkerchiefs and even a set of printed umbrellas. Each item was masterminded by a different store based inside, Roppongi Hills including BEAMS (T-shirts and swim shorts), SOPH. (coats) and Descente BLANC (totes).
Visit Roppongi Hills’ dedicated website for more information and expect the one-off merch to launch February 5 at Roppongi Hills’ stores, including the aforementioned retailers, N.HOOLYWOOD and Tsutaya bookstore.
Interested in booking the suite for yourself? Visit Grand Hyatt Tokyo Hotel’s website and prepare to pony up 450,000 JPY (approximately $4,270 USD). That weighty entry price includes some benefits, including a Murakami-autographed art book, floral masks and mugs, thematic desserts, champagne, in-room dinner courtesy of the Flower Cafe and access to the hotel’s lounge, spa and gym.
Murakami’s collaborative streak most recently saw the artist partnering with Hublot for a custom timepiece.
