Following its wildly popular Fall/Winter 2021 collection, Rough Simmons has returned with its latest anime-centric commentary on archive fashion and internet culture.

Founded in 2018, the celebrated label has enjoyed widespread popularity in niche internet communities. Beloved for its tongue-in-cheek criticism of the secondhand menswear market and anime references, Rough Simmons has now gone full circle being resold on the very Japanese auction sites that inspired it.

Once again fueled by meta-commentary with parody, the FW21 range reimagines recognizable Raf Simons archive styles with Akira, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, FLCL and K-On! references. Leading the range is the Vintage Treated Bike T-Shirt emblazoned with a graphic that recreates a classic Akira poster with Azusa Nakano dressed in Rough Simmons walking towards a Yui Hirasawa marked Kaneda bike. The heavyweight white cotton tee has been treated with a vintage wash that provides a desirable worn-in feeling.

Other standouts include the Nous Trouverons la Flèche Hoodie centered around the Bow and Arrow from Diamond is Unbreakable and Cage Cargo Pants with hand-printed metal badges with Mamimi Samejima from FLCL. Finally, the Cut & Sewn Capsule Tote which is decorated with a contrasting print that explains “The Capsules” from the Akira universe.

The four-piece collection will be available February 6, 1 p.m. EST on Rough Simmons’ website.
