Shortly after the untimely death of DMX, close friends and family of the late rapper held a memorial service honoring Earl Simmons.

Hosted on DMX’s YouTube channel, the livestream documented the Celebration of Life held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The service closed to the public honored everything the 50-year-old accomplished and the impact he continues to have on the music industry worldwide. Joined by the Ruff Ryders, Swizz Beatz gave a moving speech that shared his thoughts about close collaborator and dear friend, DMX. Later in the four-hour service, DMX’s children took to the stage with Sonovah Junior performing a rap she wrote to dedicated to her father.
